Current cigarette smoking is more prevalent among:

males; adults aged 45–64; American Indian or Alaska Native individuals and those of multiple races; bisexual adults; persons born in the US or its territories; individuals with a General Educational Development (GED) credential; those with incomes below the federal poverty level; adults with Medicaid, public, or dual eligible insurance coverage; and residents of nonmetropolitan areas.
