Tobacco use among US high school students by race and ethnicity, 2011-2024

The disparities in tobacco use among Hispanic, non-Hispanic Black and non-Hispanic White youth have persisted in the most recent decade.

Among youth, current cigarette smoking and e-cigarette use are highest among non-Hispanic White and lowest among non-Hispanic Black high school students. In contrast, current cigar smoking is highest among non-Hispanic Black high school students.
