Groups most vulnerable to secondhand smoke

Youth are particularly susceptible to the dangers of secondhand smoke.

The developing lungs and immune systems of children make them more vulnerable to the harmful effects of secondhand smoke. Exposure to secondhand smoke can lead to a range of health problems in children, including asthma, bronchitis, and ear infections. Additionally, children who grow up in environments where smoking is prevalent are more likely to become addicted themselves, perpetuating a cycle of tobacco use and health disparities.
