Comprehensive action required to address tobacco-related health disparities

A comprehensive package of tobacco control policies is needed to reduce tobacco initiation and use.

However, some of these strategies are often supported by the tobacco industry to pass weakened laws. Additionally, supporting age-related sales restrictions is a strategy to undermine other tobacco control efforts by making it seem that the issue has been resolved, when multiple strategies are needed concurrently to make a difference.
